Eye Operations

Cataract

Cataract is an eye disease that occurs when the lens inside the eye, which transmits light from outside to the retina, loses its transparency and becomes dull. As the disease progresses, visual acuity decreases. In the initial stage of cataract, it manifests itself with symptoms such as blurring of near vision and fading in perceived colors. However, as the process progresses, problems in both near and far vision increase.

With the use of some drugs, vitamin supplements and especially the use of close glasses, the person can continue his daily life at the initial level of the disease. However, when it starts to affect the daily life of the person at advanced levels, the option of surgery is considered. The only permanent method for cataract treatment is surgical operation. All methods other than surgery are aimed at slowing the progression of the disease and increasing the quality of life of the person a little more. Cataract surgery may be seen as an option when the disease begins to seriously affect a person's living conditions.

Cataract surgery is the process of replacing the patient's natural intraocular lens with an artificial intraocular lens using various surgical methods. It is a microsurgical operation. The operation begins with anesthetizing the eye with drop anesthesia. It is entered into the eye with the help of a micro incision made from the side of the eye. Cataracts are removed from the eye with various surgical methods. Finally, an artificial lens is placed in place of the intraocular lens through another incision and the operation is completed.

Femro Lasik

In Lasik technique, excimer laser and femtosecond (femtosecond) laser are used together. Flap cutting, which is the first step in making Lasik, is done not with a knife, but with a laser. For this reason, it is also called Knifeless Lasik. Femtosecond Laser: Femtosecond is 10 -15th of a second. (in other words, one quadrillionth of a second). A large number of infrared laser beams compressed into a very short time (15,000 points per second) are computer-controlled focused on the desired point on the cornea. At this point, it forms gas bubbles of 1-3 micron size containing carbon dioxide and water. These juxtaposed gas bubbles also create an incision by separating the tissue.

In the femtolasik method, the flap is made without a blade and completely with a Femtosecond laser. Femtosecond laser beams create an incision in the planned diameter, thickness, depth and direction. Thus, it enables the flap incision to be made safely in thin cornea, small eye, and previously operated eyes. The risk of small, large, irregular flaps that we see with a microkeratoma, although rare, is low. When there is a problem with the keratoma, it is necessary to wait at least 3 months to perform the surgery again. With the femtosecond (FS) laser, the procedure can be performed in 1-2 hours or the next day. Especially in people over the age of 40, the possibility of damage to the more sensitive epithelium (the top layer of the cornea) is less with the femtosecond laser. It is possible to make flaps of desired width and thickness with computer control. Thanks to the thin flaps (100 micron) that can be made with the femtosecond laser, the corneal tissue is preserved. Incision healing is faster.

I-Lasik

iLasik is a type of eye laser surgery used in the permanent treatment of various refractive errors. It is widely used for the treatment of vision defects such as astigmatism, hyperopia and myopia, for suitable patients apart from glasses and contact lenses. Like other laser operations, the main purpose is to increase the comfort of life of the person and to continue his life without the need for auxiliary materials such as glasses and contact lenses.

for those over 18 years old For those with myopia up to 10 degrees, hyperopia 6 and astigmatism up to 4 degrees For those whose corneal layer is thick enough Those who do not have systematic diseases such as diabetes, rheumatism As a result of the preliminary examination and examinations, I-Lasik laser treatment can be applied to people whose eye structure is found suitable for surgery by the physician. In the i-Lasik application, the entire process is planned specifically for the patient with wavefront and idesign technology, and even the smallest defects can be corrected with the combination of the eye recognition system. With the use of femtosecond laser, bladeless incisions are possible, thus increasing the success of the treatment.

Relex Smile

Smile laser treatment is an FDA-approved treatment. All steps in smile treatment are done without a knife and with a single laser. The disc is removed with a smaller incision compared to the femtolasik technique. It is a safe treatment in patients with high numbers. This treatment has advantages such as less dry eye problems and faster recovery. This laser provides the opportunity to treat astigmatism up to -5 in astigmatism and -10 in myopia. It is a suitable treatment method for occupational groups and athletes who are at risk of being exposed to pressure and impacts. In this laser treatment, a femtosecond laser is used to create a small tissue in the surgeon's cornea. A small arc-shaped incision is then made on the corneal surface. The surgeon removes the lenticule through this incision. The problem is corrected and the shape of the cornea is changed. The cornea heals within a few days. Sharp vision occurs quite quickly.

Relex smile laser treatment is the most suitable treatment for professional athletes and people with active lifestyles. This treatment is applied to people over the age of 18. To apply Relex smile treatment; Your eye numbers should not have changed in the past year. Your astigmatism should not be greater than -5.00 degrees. Your myopia should be between -1.00 and -10.00 degrees. Your cornea and general eye health condition should be suitable. There is a very short laser procedure in the surgery. In the surgery, a vacuum is applied that prevents you from moving your eyes. Then laser is applied. The doctor removes the piece formed in the cornea with an incision of approximately 2 mm. After the smile laser operation, watering, sensitivity and glare may be experienced in the lights throughout the day. This is completely natural. These complaints will decrease with the drops to be used in the treatment.

Multifocal Lenses

Some people use separate glasses for both near and far, while some people can see both near and far with a single glasses. Multifocal lenses, on the other hand, are intraocular lenses that provide both near and far vision.

Various rings are available in these lenses. Some of these rings enable to see far and some near. In this way, both far and near images fall on the yellow spot in the eye, which enables us to see, and near and far vision can be achieved. Patient selection is very important for this treatment. The expectation of the patient after the operation, seeing the near or far for the patient is one of the important points to be considered. Another feature of the treatment is that it both destroys the cataract and finds a solution to the problem of far-near vision in the same session in patients who need cataract surgery. The surgical method applied is the same as the standard Cataract method.
